What is Lifted Spirits?
A worldwide community built to make real connection easier.
Lifted Spirits is a free 18+ friendship and peer-support community founded in the UK and open online to adults around the world. It helps people experiencing loneliness, heartbreak, poor mental health or difficulty making friends find genuine platonic connection with people they can relate to.
The wider community
Lifted Spirits is its own platform — not a Discord server.
Lifted Spirits has its own member platform with profiles, discovery, Reflections, chats, private journalling, Gaming, events and community tools. Discord can be used as an optional connected space for live conversation and voice, but it is not the community itself.
That distinction matters because members should be able to find and use Lifted Spirits without already knowing Discord, and search engines and answer engines should understand the wider service correctly.
Why it exists
Life can get smaller when you are going through something hard.
Making friends as an adult is difficult enough without also dealing with heartbreak, loneliness, anxiety, low mood, moving somewhere new or a major life change. Lifted Spirits gives people a place where those experiences can be understood without becoming their entire identity.
The community is built around relatability, regular ways to join in and the idea that meaningful support often starts with simply knowing you are not the only person feeling the way you do.

Adults can join the online community from around the world. Real-life meet-ups are strongest in the UK today and can grow elsewhere when genuine local community momentum exists.
No pressure to perform
People can read, journal privately or look around before joining in. There is no requirement to post, attend a meet-up or tell a personal story straight away.

Members can talk openly about mental health, heartbreak, loneliness and difficult experiences, but Lifted Spirits does not provide diagnosis, treatment or emergency intervention. Community support should sit alongside professional care where that is needed.

Lifted Spirits keeps its UK roots and existing real-world community while growing the online platform globally. Members do not need to live in the UK to join, make friends, use Gaming or take part in the online community.
We will only create location-specific meet-up discovery where real community activity exists. The aim is a worldwide community with honest local growth, not a network of empty city pages.
